President's Message:

The VRI Bowls Club weekend trips away continue to be a resounding success.

A great number of Members (60 on the green) joined in the fun of playing at Moama Bowls Club recently.

Congratulations to all who attended, especially to Les Ross for winning the Garlick-Gilhooley Memorial Trophy for
2010.  The Next Garlick Gilhooley year will be 2011, then 2013.

We look forward to having enjoyable games against the API and Retired Railwaymen's day, in coming months, and also the day against the Maltese Club.

Until our next event, Best wishes & Good Bowling,

Gary Bester, President.

History:

The VRI Bowls Club is a Social Bowls Club.  It was formed in 1948, to allow Railway Men to have a social and competitive outlet in Lawn Bowls.

The Club has grown in size over the years, and currently has over 115 members, is open to Ladies and Men Members of the VRI Inc.

The Club has numerous events during the year, but does not have a Clubhouse or Green of it's own.  Rather, we hire out the facilities of a host Club, and play games during the year.

More details of the Club's history and events are on the following pages.  If you have any questions regarding the Club and its events, please let us know.
