The Ararat VRI Bowls Club runs Lawn Bowls Events and Games for VRI Members in the Ararat region.

History:

The Ararat VRI Bowls Club was formed at a meeting held in August, 1955.
The first President of the Club was the late Maurie Walsh, with first Secretary the late Bert Mercovich.
First Ladies President the late Alice Richards and Secretary, the late Min Kennedy.

Current Club President Stanley McDonald with Secretary Chas Olive for 23rd Term.

The Club was affiliated with teh RVBA on the 28th February 1956.
Originally a member of the South Wimmera Bowls Association, it currently is a member of the Grampians
Bowls Association.

1993 saw the installation of a 'King Heylan' Synthetic Green, later replaced in 2005 with an 'ABS' synthetic green.

Currently we have 50 male members and 34 female members.

Over the years we have been successful in the pennant competition, having won 3 Division 1 and 6 Division 2 premierships.

Our ladies have won 4 pennant premierships.

The Club conducts social bowls each Sunday and Wednesday afternoon all year round.
During Daylight Savings, Twilight Bowls are held each Wednesday evening in lieu of afternoon social bowls.

On the first Friday of each month, open 2 bowl triples are played, and on the third Friday of each month,
mixed 2 bowl triples are played, both commencing at 12.30pm in casual dress.
